Frequently-Asked Questions
Does the library have wireless Internet?
Yes. The entire building has an available wireless signal that does not require a password.
Does the library have computers for non-residents to use?
Yes. Three terminals in our lobby are for quick "email checks" for tourists. Fifteen minute codes are available at the checkout desk. There is no fee but donations are welcomed. During peak tourist seasons, a queue may form. More terminals are available in our research area, and may be used for up to one hour. These machines are restricted in that email, chat, and games are not allowed. Our media computers, also available to non-residents for up to one hour, are handy for visitors who need to download cameras, edit video, burn cds, and more.
May non-residents check materials out of the library?
While any user is welcome to use materials inside the library, in order to borrow materials, residency must be established in Grand County or the 84532 zip code area by showing proof of a local physical address. In lieu of this, a non-resident annual fee of $40 is assessed for each family that wishes to borrow materials. The reason for this is that our library is supported by a County Property Tax, and the $40 fee is an average amount paid by local households to support the library.
